Reading your brief
When you type a search, our AI doesn't just extract keywords. It reads your intent the way a head of scouting would read a request from a manager. It understands tactical language — regista, box-to-box, inverted winger, false 9 — as well as plain descriptions like 'fast, good in the air, clinical'. It identifies every constraint: position, foot preference, age range, height, league, club, nationality. It weighs which attributes matter most for your specific brief and builds a scoring framework unique to that search.
Scanning the database
Only hard requirements become database filters. Everything else stays wide open. ScoutGol pulls up to 100 candidates matching your must-haves, pre-sorted by the stats that matter most for your search. If you mention a club, only that club's players appear. If you mention a league, the search stays within it. If you don't, the entire database of 5,000+ players from 15 leagues is on the table.
Scoring every candidate
The top candidates are scored using a composite formula: 65% fit score (how well each player matches your specific brief) and 35% overall quality score (how good the player is in absolute terms based on their stats). The quality score is position-adjusted — a striker is judged on goal threat and pace, a centre-back on aerial ability and defensive actions. The result: the top of your list is always the best match AND the best player, not just the closest keyword hit.
Writing the scout reports
For each result, ScoutGol generates a two-sentence analytical scout report. Not a stats summary. A genuine interpretation of what the data means tactically. The AI is instructed to write like a professional analyst: no names, no clubs, no numbers — pure qualitative insight about the player's style, strengths, and suitability for the role you described. Every report is unique to the combination of player and search.

ScoutGol's player database covers 5,000+ players from 15 top professional leagues worldwide. Statistics are sourced from real 2024/25 and 2025/26 match data. Each player profile includes: goals, assists, appearances, pass accuracy, key passes, pressing actions, expected goals (xG), expected assists (xA), height, age, preferred foot, and nationality. Skill bar ratings are calculated algorithmically from these real stats — not from editorial scores or crowdsourced ratings.
